Terms & Conditions
By using MaltaList to post, browse or respond to classified advertisements and business listings, you agree to these terms. They apply to the MaltaList website and to our apps for iPhone and Android.

1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using MaltaList you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
2. Accounts and Sign-in
Accounts are created by signing in with a third-party provider (Google, Apple, Microsoft or Facebook). We do not use or store passwords. You are responsible for keeping access to your sign-in provider secure and for all activity under your account. You may link more than one provider to the same account, and where a sign-in method already belongs to another account you control, you may merge the two into one. You may delete your account at any time; deletion is immediate and permanent, and cannot be undone.
3. Posting Ads
When you post an ad on MaltaList, you agree that:
- All information you provide is accurate, truthful, and not misleading
- You are the rightful owner of, or are authorised to advertise, the item or service
- Your ad does not violate any applicable Maltese or EU law
- Your ad does not contain offensive, fraudulent, or illegal content
- You will not post spam, duplicate ads, or irrelevant content
4. Business Profiles, Claims and Reviews
If you add a business profile, you confirm you are entitled to represent that business and that its details are accurate. Certain business profiles and listing categories are reviewed before they go live. Where reviews or ratings are displayed, you agree not to post false, misleading or manipulated reviews, and not to incentivise reviews improperly.
You can claim an existing business listing in order to manage it. We may verify a claim by a one-time code sent to the business's published phone number or email address, by a document you provide, or by manual review. A moderator may approve, decline, reassign or revoke management of a listing at any time, and a false or misleading claim may lead to removal of the claim and action on your account. When you claim a business, your display name and email are shared with that business so it can see who is requesting access.
When you post or edit an ad, you can link it to one or more business profiles you manage, confirming that the ad is genuinely offered by that business. Linked ads appear on the business's profile and on its listings page, and the business appears on the ad. Linking ads to a business you are not entitled to represent may lead to removal of the ads and action on your account.
5. Prohibited Content
The following is strictly prohibited on MaltaList:
- Illegal goods or services
- Counterfeit products
- Weapons, drugs, or regulated substances
- Adult content or services
- Discriminatory or hateful content
- Any content that infringes third-party intellectual property rights
6. Free Service and Listing Duration
MaltaList is free to use. There are no listing packages, fees or paid features. Each listing stays live for 60 days from the time it is published, or, for listings that require review, from the time it is approved. After 60 days the listing automatically expires and is closed to public view. You can re-publish an expired listing at any time.
7. Moderation
When a listing is posted or edited it is screened automatically against these terms, including by an AI check of its text and photos. Most listings and business profiles publish immediately, while certain listing categories, business profiles we cannot categorise automatically, and anything the automated check flags enter a moderation queue for review by a human moderator before going live. We reserve the right to remove, suspend or reject any listing or profile that violates these terms, without prior notice. For repeated or serious violations we may also suspend an account or delete it outright. Signed-in users can report a listing they believe breaks these terms, and our moderators will review it.
8. Intellectual Property
The MaltaList name, logo and branding may not be used without our prior written permission. You retain ownership of the content you post (text, photos, business details), and you grant MaltaList a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display and distribute that content on the platform for the purpose of operating the service.
You are solely responsible for the content you post and confirm that you own it or hold all rights and permissions needed to publish it. You must not post content that infringes any third party's intellectual property, including copyrighted material, trademarks, brand names or logos you are not authorised to use. You agree to indemnify and hold MaltaList harmless from any claim, demand or damages arising from content you post or from your breach of these terms.
If you believe content on MaltaList infringes your intellectual property rights, contact us at info@maltalist.mt with details of the content and proof of your rights. We will review and remove infringing content promptly.
9. Privacy
We collect and process personal data in accordance with GDPR and Maltese data protection law. Your contact details are masked until a viewer passes a spam check, and we do not sell your data to third parties. See the Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy for full details.
10. Limitation of Liability
MaltaList acts as a platform connecting buyers, sellers and businesses. We are not responsible for the accuracy of listings, the quality of goods or services, or disputes between users. All transactions are at the user's own risk.
11. Changes to Terms
MaltaList may update these Terms & Conditions at any time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
